IEEE Discovery Tour 2005 - Telstra

Did you miss out on the Discovery Tour to NEC Australia last year? Are you still kicking yourself for not registering earlier? If so, you can stop now and act faster this time, because you cannot afford to miss out on this one! The University of Melbourne IEEE Student Branch and the RMIT IEEE Student Chapter is taking you for the IEEE Discovery Tour of Telstra!

This is a free-for-members tour with a focus on telecommunications from a network operator's perspective. It is highly recommended for any engineering students (postgraduate or undergraduate) studying or researching in the field of telecommunications. This is also a great opportunity to take a sneak peek at one of the largest employers of telecommunications graduates in Australia!

About Telstra Global Operations Centre

Telstra's Global Operations Centre (GOC) is the monitoring and maintenance centre of Telstra's phone network. The GOC manages around 44 million fixed-line calls, 21 million mobile calls and 8.5 million SMS messages per day. The centre was opened in Clayton, Melbourne, in August 1999 and now employs around 700 people.
