IEEE 2004 Conference on the History of Electronics

How does a free trip to England sound? You could be on your way to the 2004 international IEEE Conference on the History of Electronics in England with your airfare paid and the chance to win one of three cash prizes!

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for IEEE student members to undertake research in the history of electronics and present findings at Bletchley Park -- the home of the Colossus where the first large-scale computer was created and used to break the German Enigma cipher during World War II. Just imagine the warmth emanating from 2,400 vacuum tubes!

"Electronics" is a broad field encompassing computers, signal processing, control systems, consumer electronics and many other disciplines. Your research can cover any aspect of this history including technological, economic or social in a 10-20 page paper. Ten papers will be accepted, one from each IEEE Region, and authors will be invited to the conference with expenses paid.

Get working! The deadline for submission is 15 March 2004 and is fast approaching!
