4.4 Contact Stan Skafidas regarding giving talk (and also for his brief biography);
the talk should be approximately 40 minutes with 30 minutes' question time. A tentative date is between May 16th - 20th.

    • Report from IEEE Victorian Section meeting
      • Not much to report.

  3. Financial report

    • We have recently received money from IEEE HQ in our account.

  4. Branch Activities

    1. Discovery Tour

      • Email notification and poster advertising are well underway.
    2. MATLAB Workshop

      • JC enquired at the Bailleu Library regarding room booking and is waiting for a response.
      • There are currently no machines with MATLAB installed on them there.
      • The workshop will be held on May 24th, therefore advertising should start on May 9th at the latest, giving people 1.5 weeks to register.
      • Course material needs to be revised by May 13th.
      • A practice run will be undertaken after that.
    3. Professional Development Seminar II

      • NN is organising the speaker and content; it should be a presentation of approximately 40 minutes' duration with a maximum of 30 minutes for questions.
    4. Review of our future events

      • Unix workshop may be held later than June if there are few people to help organise it and the material.
      • A mock-interview session may be held depending on student interest, with industry employers taking part in helping students prepare for real-world job interviews.
